Wednesday Night Service

Yeah, I preached tonight. I wasn't nervous at all, despite how I might've sound. I don't stutter badly, but I did do it on a couple of occasions. Not because of nervousness but because I wanted to stay on point but there were different things I wanted to say, and they jumble together sometimes and then bleh, bleh, bleh comes out. But I praise the Lord for being with me, I couldn't have done it without Him and without people praying for me.

Now that the hard part is out of the way, more packing. (sigh)

The Wednesday Running of the Errand

Okay, this will be the last time in a long time that I'll title an entry like this. But there was a reason why I had to go to the mall this morning. One of the Superman shirts I bought had a terrible defect on the back. And I needed to go exchange it and bring the car right back so my father could go to work on time. I guess it wasn't so bad exchanging the shirt because I actually got the right size this time. My skinny wee-man of a friend wears a medium shirt. Wow, I wear a XXL shirt. I could wear a XL but if I don't want to look like a freak, I'll wear the XXL. Anyway, I exchanged the shirt, picked up some chicken-n-biscuits for me and my dad, and got back in plenty of time for him to go off to work.

I've been spending the last couple of hours packing and cleaning and packing. It's happening again. Some of you I'll be leaving (yay) and some of you I'll be coming to (yay). Now that I really want to bring my iPod to school, I know I'm not going to. Maybe I'll bring it after a break but for now, it's just going to chill in the house.

Preaching tonight. I'll post something to let you all know how it went. Gotta go, peeth out.

The Tuesday Running of Errands

Actually, they weren't errands at all. I just wanted to go to the mall one last time before I left for school this Thursday. I spent a lot of money today, though. I bought another Superman t-shirt for another friend of mine (because he said he wanted one. It set me back 20 bucks, just to let you know DSD), some shorts for recreation, a John Coltrane CD (classic jazz, you cats know nothing 'bout dat), a whopper jr. and a medium drink. I spent a total of about $50 or so. And no Toy, I didn't use my credit card and no "girl who likes to refer to herself as 'Me'," I didn't buy you any food. Besides, how cruddy would it have been if I burst into your classroom and chucked some chicken nuggets at you? It'd be pretty weird; fun but still weird beyond all reason.

(sigh)...I still got some packing to do and I still need to brush up on my sermon before tomorrow night. But before I go, let me tell you this story of what happened today. I was coming out of FYE (buying my Coltrane CD) when this guy came up to me.

"Hey, my man? I got this movie ticket for Superman and I want to try to get a refund but I'm not really supposed to be on the premises. I was in there but some girl spotted us so me and my friends had to leave. So could you go and get my money back for me?"

Okay...several things wrong here and all these things were going through my head. First, if you weren't supposed to be in the mall then why are you even here? How on earth did you get a ticket if you weren't supposed to get one? Second of all, I saw you walk out the exit and you had NO ONE with you. What friends? I even saw you walking around the mall several times by yourself and you're by yourself now. Thirdly, that's what you get for not using your brain. But all that came out was, "Don't you think that's a little dishonest? I wish I could help you but I just don't feel right about doing that. I'm sorry."

How's that being dishonest? I don't know but he left me alone. I really felt like helping him but something told me that he was trying to hustle me for some reason. Heh, oh well. Gotta get packin. Until next time...

The Monday Running of Errands

Well, they weren't really errands per se. Let's see:
1. Went to the mall and bought 2 pairs of dress slacks and 2 t-shirts (Venom for me and a Superman for a friend.
2. Got a haircut with extra long sideburns...yeah buddy!
3. Went to McDonalds and bought a McChicken, Dbl Cheeseburger, McValue fries and large sweet tea
4. Picked up my sister from her 1st day of school.

That's about it, I guess. Just a couple of more minutes and then it's off to work. Peace E-Z err'body (everybody for the laymen)

Feeling Light-headed...

So, I had to leave in between services today because I got light-headed. My head was pounding, it took effort to do everything, and I couldn't pay attention. So I drove myself home and told my sister to take the bus home. I took a 2 hour nap but that didn't help any. When I sit up or stand up it seems that all the blood leaves my head and I have to lay back down again. But when I lay down, my head starts to pound again. I don't know what it is but I hate it. But the good news is that it only lasts for about a day and I'm already feeling better. Maybe it's because I needed food in my system. I ate a few chips and a bowl or cereal.

Anyway, I do plan on going to church tonight though. Hopefully, I'll feel better tonight than I do now.

My New iPod

I can't believe I got an iPod, but I did. You may ask, "Do you need one?" That's very simple, of course not. And, I bought with my plastic. Man, what am I going to do with myself? Oh well, this thing is pretty sweet I guess. I tried to install the software to my desktop but I need Windows 2000 or XP in order for it to work. So I installed it onto my laptop but the disk space is running low. So that means that I either have to upgrade the desktop to 2000 or XP, or I have to update the disk space on my laptop but either way I'm going to have to upgrade.

But now, I managed to put some albums on the iPod: No More Night by the Crown College Choir and A Very Pop Christmas. I love Christmas music and I don't care if it's August! Anyway, I plan on putting more songs on it when I get back from work tonight. Shoes, a camera, various meals, gas for my dad's crummy jeep, and an iPod. This card is going to be the end of me, won't it?

One Week Away

Ah, don't you hate repeating yourself? "Hey, so when are you going back to college?" they say. And of course I respond, "The 25th of August." I must've said that to everyone in my church at least twice. And I guarantee you that I'm going to hear it more this weekend. "You ready to go back?" No, I'm kicking and screaming about the fact that I have to go back to school where all my friends are.

Well there is a plus side from being at home...I'm home! I don't have to pay to do my laundry, I can sleep in until whenever (I like that one), I get to wear khakis and a polo (untucked, hehe) to Wednesday night services; ya know, stuff I don't usually get to do when I'm at school. But I have 7 days to clean, pack, pack, and clean. (sigh) Oh well, it's all good though.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Since someone has leaked this site to those who I consider in authority over me, "Life is a Highway" will no longer be played in the background or any other song for that matter. Thanks a lot...

Okay...maybe this song will do.

It's Monday Again

Monday's are such a drag, let me tell ya. I woke up at around 12 (hehe), went to cash my check, went a bought a carnitas burrito at Chipolte's (yum yum), and gave my tithe and missions to the church (since I didn't have to money yesterday). And in about an hour, I'll be on my way to work. (sigh) I gotta make that money, I guess. Until next time folks...

Bored and Hyper?

What's a guy to do when he's bored out of his mind and feeling a bit antsy? Take some Tylenol PM of course. Now, I'm still bored but all I feel like doing is laying down...but I won't. I figure I'll take two more before I really go to bed.

Marine Parade

Last night, my Sunday School class went to D.C. to watch a Marine Drill team. It was pretty sweet, I guess. There was this one group of marines called the "Silent Drill Team" where they performed with assault rifles without any audible cadences. They flipped their rifles behind their backs and caught them in the air, it was real neat. It was at night so the pictures are kinda hard to make out but here are a few:

This is where they performed, the Marine Barracks. That white house in the background is where the head honcho of the Marines live, the General...something or another. I don't really know I wasn't listening to the guy when he mentioned it but that is nice house.

This the band that played. They were pretty good.

Hey, here are a bunch 0' guys. The band was playing and the black coats were doing cool sancrinized movements with their rifles.

Who's that!?! Oh, hehe, I know...

Don't worry, Jen. I got your back.

TGIF!

It's Friday! And guess what...I don't have to go to work today! And guess what...I'm going out with my Sunday School class and I'll probably make a fool out of myself as always! And guess what...I'm going to play soccer tonight and make myself look dumb! Yay! Today's going to be a fun day.

Another Monday...

Yep, it's Monday again. Nothing really special about Mondays. Gotta go to work to clean those bathrooms. I'm tellin ya, my partner better come or I'm going to...do something not nice, not nice at all. Or maybe I'll just whine about it. That's what I'll do, I'll whine. I DON'T WANNA GO TO WORK!

But there is a plus side...at least I get paid more money than all of you! Ha! Now, it's your turn to whine. Peeth out.

Soccerdome!

Last night (or should I say, this morning) Snowman (a guy at my church) and I went to play soccer at the (aptly named) Soccerdome. The place was pretty sweet. It had two little soccer fields for like 4 on 4 competitions and they had one that was twice as big as one of the little fields. We played about four 16 minute games. It was turn-based so we had to sit out for about 45 minutes of so. I had a lot of fun, even though I was schooled out there and I was worn out. These guys were blazin' fast. I felt like a total rookie...well, I AM a total rookie but you get my point. I was running around pretending to know what I was doing but I only was fooling myself. Then, I was keeper (goal keeper) and it was there where I shined...then went dull whenever the ball got close to me. But they said I did a good job. I tried not to get a big head about that because as soon as you take a compliment well, you start playing like trash so I just said thank you and kept on.

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures because 1) It was a new place that I've never been and 2) I had no idea what kind of people I'd be dealing with; they could've took my camera while I was playing. That wouldn't have been cool but I'll manage to get some photos next time...and then put the camera back in my car so no one will steal it.

One turf burn on my right knee but I still had a blast (insert exclamation point) Maybe this is a sign of things to come...(play pensive music)

It's Time For VBS

It's Vacation Bible School time this week and our theme is "Onward Christian Soldiers." with knights and princesses and stuff. Yours truly is the Red Knight (fanfare). Check these out:

There I am! The Red Knight. There's the Blue, Black, and Green Knight. They're somewhere...

There are the Green and Black Knights getting ready for the jousting tourney

And here is the jester Mr. Tim Juggles, a key role for this week's VBS

What's a VBS without kids and gametime? Look at them having a ball!

And what's a VBS without good Bible preaching and teaching? Since the theme is "Onward Christian Soldiers," we're teaching the kids about being a good soldier for Jesus Christ and teaching them about the armor of a soldier (Eph. 6).

A long post but a lot of pictures so I don't wanna hear any complaints!

Item 3 of 3

An Abercrombie & Fitch muscle-cut polo. Um...I think this shirt is a tad too small. So you know what that means; starve myself until I can fit into it! Just kidding but the seller was right, these shirts really DO wear small. What oh what am I going to do? Give me time to think about this one...

But for now, (Jorgin von Strangle voice) just look at my bulging biceps...they're HUGE!

Camoflauge

Shhh...you don't see us...

Well, maybe you do but just use your imagination. (If you're lost, our shirts match the background)
